Content Marketing Wizardry — My Online Workshop

This will take you through the why, what, when, who and how of creating content marketing wizardry.

 

Why Do You Need the Workshop?

So what has any of this to do with you? After all, the point of your business is to offer a service, sell a product or manufacture widgets, not to write.

Well, there are plenty of reasons, actually:

  • Content marketing is one of the most effective ways to get new customers or encourage referrals. If it’s well written, it helps your audience to know, like and trust you, and therefore think of you when they or one of their contacts needs what you offer.
  • There’s a lot of noise out there, and your content needs to be special to stand out. Poorly written (or even average) content is likely to sink without trace. You need content that cuts through the noise, calmly and clearly, showing what makes you special.
  • Stories sell your business. Humans are programmed to respond to stories — and your audience is no exception. A compelling story is the best way to engage your readers. But do you know how to weave stories into your content marketing?
  • Writing is good because of the effect it has on the reader, not because it passes some academic test. That doesn’t mean the rules of grammar and construction are irrelevant, but that’s because it helps you create passion in your readers.
  • Even if you’re going to outsource content writing, you need to be able to tell the difference between good, bad and great. Would you be able to pick a great copywriter from among the OK ones? Or understand why AI is a useful tool but can’t write top-class content?

As I’ve said, the workshop will take you through the why, what, when, who and how of creating content marketing wizardry. So what does that involve?

  • Identify your why — What do you want to get out of your marketing? Trying to market without knowing why is like setting out on a journey without knowing your destination.
  • What kind of content — There are many different types of marketing content, and each one works best for someone. Which is the right type for your business?
  • Who you want to talk to — Marketing addressed to everybody will reach nobody. If your content is aimed at the ideal person, other similar people will relate to it too.
  • When to put your content out — It’s useless posting your content at a time when the people you’re targeting are going to miss it. But there’s no one-size-fits-all answer.
  • How to create your content — I’ll go through what you need to know in order to create content that targets your clients like a scalpel — and how to avoid the common pitfalls.
